A product like Goo Gone is less likely to attack the finish that&#039;s on the wood. Since it&#039;s been on there a long time just let it soak for a bit, it will get the tape residue off. If the case needs to be cleaned from being in the garage try Howards orange oil, a cleaner &amp; polish for wood without wax or silicone.</description>

		<description>Acetone will eat the finish off, try Goo Gone or Old English lemon oil for furniture, also WD40 will remove alot of things without damaging the bookcase..might take a little elbow grease but one of these products should work....I use Goo Gone alot to remove the adhesive from price tag stickers..good luck!</description>
