How can I put storage in attic space?
I have a space to crawl up through the ceiling in my bedroom closet to get to the attic space,it is about 3ft sq. I have to use a ladder to get up into this space. How can I convert part of the area above the ceiling in my closet into a storage area for keeping my extra things so I can get them out of a spare bedroom I want to make into a guest room? Any suggestions as to how to get the boards up into the space to lay them down to put the storage totes on to keep them from falling between the roof joists? I am wanting to use like plywood to make the "floor" for the totes, etc to sit on. Thanks for any help in this issue. I will be doing this by myself without anyone standing down and handing these totes to me,so please make the advice easy and safe for one person.

Cut your plywood to 24" wide by 48" long. So if you purchase a 48" x 48" piece of wood, you will get 2 pieces 24" x 48". While standing on your ladder, lift the pieces up through the opening and place them across your joist. You can do this many times to cover a larger area of your attic for more storage space. You can fasten them down with a few short nails or screws to prevent them from moving once you crawl up their.
