I am planning a layout for finishing my basement. I have some usable space under the basement stairs that I plan to make a storage closet. The space that is available dictates that the door be 3' 6" high at the highest. The door will also be about 27-28 inches wide. So I was wondering if anyone could give me some good sources for custom sized doors. Nothing fancy or expensive. Also, if anyone knows where I can find some information on building my own door, that would be useful. Thanks!

I am leaving my town for 9 months and need to store all my furniture and stuff. What features are important to get in a storage unit? I live in Oregon so it gets pretty rainy– should the storage space be climate controlled?
I would like to refinish a black high gloss bookcase with gold trim. The gold trim, I think is glued to the top edge. Does anyone know how to get the trim off?? Does anyone have any helpful suggestions as to how I can stain this mahogany and where to buy new cabinet knobs and drawer pulls?
Thanks so much
The bookcase is about 40 years old and was being stored in my mom’s garage after my grandfather died. I finally got in to my house – Is there a solution that I can make to take the dried residue of masking tape and glue off the wood w/o stripping the finish?
I have a space to crawl up through the ceiling in my bedroom closet to get to the attic space,it is about 3ft sq. I have to use a ladder to get up into this space. How can I convert part of the area above the ceiling in my closet into a storage area for keeping my extra things so I can get them out of a spare bedroom I want to make into a guest room? Any suggestions as to how to get the boards up into the space to lay them down to put the storage totes on to keep them from falling between the roof joists? I am wanting to use like plywood to make the "floor" for the totes, etc to sit on. Thanks for any help in this issue. I will be doing this by myself without anyone standing down and handing these totes to me,so please make the advice easy and safe for one person.
I just recently got a new bookcase. It’s almost three feet tall and a little over two feet wide and I was wondering, will my bookcase will be able to support my T.V. if it’s on top of the bookcase? My Television weighs almost 50 pounds. The wood of the boards of the bookcase is not lumber-like wood, it’s wood pulp that’s compressed together and the top board is bolted into the side boards. Any answers you can give I will be very appreciated.
